What are the rules/etiquette for wearing rings? How do I know which gems or sizes to place on which fingers?

I'd like to wear a combination of rings of different gemstones/sizes at the same time. Friends have said the larger ring should not be on my middle finger and different gemstones should not be worn together on the same hand. What are the guidelines /rules?

The table below shows the price of rings for the various weights of gemstones.

Well, the only real rule I’ve heard is the obvious. The only ring on your left hand ring finger should be a promise ring or an engagement/wedding ring. I think whatever you think is cute or want to do is fine!

Here goes my rules…Left ring finger(finger closest to pinkie) is for wedding rings, engagement rings, promise rings, and any other finger can be used for any ring of any size, shape and gemstone. I’m 40, and I’ve yet to hear anything different.

There are no guidelines, use the ones that you like and look pretty together….. I am not a big jewelry girl, I only wear my wedding band and my engagement ring, but you can play with all your options, just have fun.

I don’t really have the rules or the guidelines. This is my advice. Don’t wear earrings that are heavy. Your Pierced holes will get kinda big. Which I don’t think looks good. This is an advice. I really want to help people.

Etiquette is a system of rules and conventions that regulate social and professional behaviour. In any social unit there are accepted rules of behaviour upheld and enforced by legal codes; there are also norms of behaviour mandated by custom and enforced by group pressure. An offender faces no formal trial or sentence for breach of etiquette; the penalty lies in the disapproval.

if ur buying artificial gems then it doesn’t matters that on which finger it is worn but if ur buying real ones then the shopkeeper will tell u either u can meet some astrologers they will definitely tell wat to do.

My opinion and my rule on ring etiquette is:
Don’t we all wear rings for our own pleasure and enjoyment……Do what ever makes you happy!

Girl – You wear the largest gems your man will buy and stick to diamonds. They never go out of style or season. As for etiquette, you won’t have to worry about that with your girlfriends. They’ll be too busy trying to close there mouths when they see those gorgeous rocks. Hey don’t believe me ask my lady with her 2 carot rock. Actually she has a 1 carrot on the right ring finger and a half carot on the pinky finger next to it. Her left has a half on the pinky and the full 2 carot on the finger reserving our wedding date.
The only major etiquette I feel is really important is that your left ring finger is reserved solely for your special man to slide his love and life in the form of a ring onto. For that finger it doesn’t have to be huge, just from the heart. I just happen to be more fortunate than most. PLEASE DON’T DISRESPECT YOUR SPECIAL HIM BY HAVING IT OCCUPIED IN ADVANCE.

It all depends on the reason you want to wear them. If its just like that and not for luck or something of that sort its fine. Just make sure that if you don’t want the stone to affect you it should not be in direct contact of your skin in other words there should be something in between the lower part of the ring and the skin of the finger to keep it from touching your body. If you want to wear them for luck you can’t for sure wear all the stones. There are only some specific types and depends on your date, place and time of birth. I would strongly recommend in that case to consult an astrologer as stones can have positive as well have negative affects.

I don’t know of any such guidelines, but in my opinion, the worst look in the world is when a woman wears every ring she owns at once. Wearing rings on every finger, or multiple rings on every finger looks bad, really bad.

I knew this girl once that had each of her boyfreinds she has had by her a ring of their birthstone color. She filled all her fingers up and thumbs….lol

DOESNT REALLY MATTER AT ALL.

Anything more than one ring per hand just looks gaudy. I’m sorry. Unless you have the kind that you can wear layered and that looks cool then that is fine.

I read where you should keep all your rings and bracelets and things the same size so that when you are in a hurry to get out, you don’t have to try and figure out what goes together or doesn’t. As for the stones, are you wanting lots of different ones or do you just like 2 or 3. All of m;ine are diamonds and sapphires. I can put on what i like anytine and know that I am good to go. But, do what makes you you. Dont let others tell you how you should wear your jewelry, after all what you choose tells others about you.
