i would never buy a diamond ring online. Thats just too much money to entrust to a computer , online store. I don’t think I would go to a department store either. I would go to a reputable jeweler. There are places where you can just buy the diamond ( the Diamond district in Manhattan for example) , then you can have it set in a ring elsewhere.Make sure you get the certificate guaranteeing the diamond is what it is, grom a GIAA certified jeweler. gl!

I bought the diamond based on the certificate. I bought from a place called uniondiamond.com 5 years ago, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from bluenile either.

Go to blue nile. Department stores have crazy markups and the diamonds are never really that good anyway. My husband bought my ring online through a site similar to blue nile and it’s absolutely beautiful. Plus, he paid $2,000 less than it was appraised for.
