Sweet asked:

And how did he loose diamond end up getting in Denzel Washington's pocket, just by quickly brushing past Clive Owen as he was leaving the bank?

  1. Men’s Rings

The ring was evidence. It would remain in the police locker until the crime was solved or dismissed. Then it would be returned to the rightful owner or auctioned. In this case, since it might be impossible to determine who it was originally stolen from, it would probably be auctioned and the money go to the government.

The diamond was put in his pocket by a kind of “reverse pickpocket” move.

  2. Silver Cigarette Cases

    Yes, I did.

The ring is evidence — apart from being very expensive as well, and since Denzel Washington’s character is a cop, you can be sure the ring is at the Police Station as evidence.

Clive Owen’s character DID put the loose diamond in his pocket. If you’ve ever been the victim of a Very Good Pickpocket (and I hope you haven’t!), it is quite possible to pick someone’s pocket (or put something in it) simply by jostling them. And as a detective (or cop or whatever), Denzel Washington’s character would know that. Of course, at the time, he obviously thought nothing of it because of the safety deposit box he was heading for.
