Princess Cut Engagement Rings
The Princess Cut Diamond is quickly gaining ground on the round brilliant cut as the most popular shape because it takes best advantage of diamond's internal light reflective properties.
The most noteable feature is the flat, square top (called the table) with the bottom forming a pyramid below it. The is a truly modern cut having been first developed in the 1970's. Today's couples looking for a more modern cut have made the Princess Cut Engagement Ring the high fashion preferred choice.
The princess cut is also known as the square modified brilliant cut as it takes its main structural elements from the ever popular round brilliant cut. The large flat table allows the maximum amount of light to enter the diamond and be reflected back from the inner surfaces of the facets.
Princess Cut Engagement Rings - Maximum Carat Weight
Besides their fantastic brilliance, Princess Cut Diamonds have the wonderful benefit of generally being lower in cost than round cut diamonds of the same carat weight. The reason for this is because less of the raw diamond is lost in the cutting process. Part of the cost of any finished diamond the is the cost of the stone that was sacrificed in the cutting process and because the princess cut usually requires less trimming away of rough stone, you get more "bling for your buck" with a princess cut engagement ring.
The princess cut works well as a traditional solitaire engagement ring, but three stone rings are currently the hottest trend in wedding jewelry.

I don't need the stone out because of the setting I can clean it easily with a toothbrush. It's just the band is looking worn.
